Our Story
Since 1957, OM has been working to carry on the mission that God placed on George Verwer’s heart to share the message of God's love with those who had little chance to hear it. What began with three men has grown to a global movement of over 4,900 passionate Christ-followers from 118 nationalities, serving in more than 120 countries.
The gospel changes everything - every part of life, and our team reflects that. We are made up of pastors and teachers, as well as artists, engineers, IT professionals, bakers, and much more! If you have a passion to serve the cause of Christ, you’ll find a place for your unique gifts and skills with OM.
God has used us to take the gospel around the globe, and we won’t stop now. There are an estimated 3 billion people who still do not know God’s love, so we will continue to motivate Jesus followers to go to places with few or no churches.

“In one of the remaining communist states on earth and the poorest country in South-East Asia, 61 per cent of the population follow Buddha. Yet there is church growth, led by nationals, despite government restrictions and persecution.”
“Sindh province has Pakistan’s highest percentage of Hindus overall, accounting for 8.8 per cent of the population, or around 4.9 million people. Sam has been working in the region in the south of Pakistan for the past 11 years, bringing hope through the message and example of Jesus.”

Southern Russia, including Adygea, Karachay-Cherkessia, Kabardino-Balkaria, North Ossetia-Alania, Ingushetia, Chechnya and Dagestan
South Asia
Few known Jesus followers amongst 1.5 billion people

Very few Jesus followers amongst 240 million people

The Ship Ministry
The Ship Ministry began in 1970 and since then OM’s ships have visited more than 480different ports in 151 countries and territories and welcomed over 47 million visitors onboard.
An international crew and staff of volunteers live and work on the ships. Teams from the ships go into surrounding areas to supply aid and community care. In each port, the ships’ crew joins local organizations to bring hope and show love to people whatever their circumstance, culture or background
Teen Street
TeenStreet is a global movement of young Jesus followers that journey together to share God’s love with those who don’t yet know it. It’s a discipleship journey that begins and grows in a small group environment.
TeenStreet discipleship is an investment in the rising generation of Christians, to equip them with the knowledge, resources, and character to continue the work of proclaiming and living out the gospel.
